Felipe Henao Recognized as a Latino Trailblazer
City & State NY named Dean of Students Felipe Henao, Ed.D., to its list of Latino Trailblazers for 2025. The list recognizes trailblazers of Hispanic heritage across New York state.

Henao, a first-generation Latino scholar, was chosen for championing equity through both empathy and innovation and for leading New York Tech as it attends to students’ basic needs, including expanding the Grizzly Cupboard food pantry, and for his goal to destigmatize resource access for students facing hardship.
Additionally, he is recognized for bridging student affairs, inclusion and institutional transformation, and building trusting cultures of belonging across the school’s Long Island and New York City campuses.
