News Byte: President Foley Again Named as Top Power Player in Education
New York Tech President Hank Foley, Ph.D., has once again been named as one of 2023’s Power Players in Education by PoliticsNY. The news source covers New York City politics, government, policy, and judicial news.
President Foley is among a group of 100 educators, legislators, and other leaders profiled in this annual list. Honorees are recognized for their dedication to education throughout New York.
When asked what he thinks the future of New York’s education system looks like, President Foley acknowledged a myth persisting among policymakers that private universities cater to students from high-income families.
“I wish policymakers would view the whole of higher education as one system with both public and private institutions seeking to provide the best for the students,” he said. “We are all in this together, and better higher education is better for the state and the country. Working together is best for the whole sector.”
