Warnings About AI-Generated Misinformation for New York Voters

Professor of Marketing and Management Colleen Kirk, D.P.S., appeared on Spectrum News to discuss concerns around AI in political ads. Ahead of Election Day, a new guide aims to help New Yorkers understand election misinformation created by artificial intelligence.

Kirk has researched the influence AI technology has on people.

“If people discover later that a politician used AI to generate something, an ad or message or something like that, I think they’re going to feel even more betrayed because [what] if they originally thought it was authentic,” Kirk shared.
