Vavetsi Celebrated as Fulbright U.S. Scholar

Newsday’s Winners column has featured Rozina Vavetsi, M.Sc., as a Fulbright U.S. Scholar. Beginning in January 2025, Vavetsi will spend six months in South Africa, where she will work with the faculty at the University of Johannesburg and embark on a series of activities focused on teaching and researching human-centered, participatory design and “decolonization” of the university’s graphic design curriculum — investigating areas for improvement and emphasizing the inclusion of underrepresented ethnic groups and community stakeholders.
