Parkinson’s Event Featured on TV News Segments
As seen on WPIX (channel 11 news), News 12, and Yahoo!, the Adele Smithers Parkinson’s Disease Treatment Center hosted a 12-hour Rock Steady Boxing “boxathon” aimed at raising awareness for Parkinson’s and the importance of exercise in disease treatment. It also served to bring members of the Rock Steady Boxing community together during the holidays, a time when many patients may experience loneliness and isolation. The coverage included interviews with Adena Leder, D.O., director of New York Tech’s Parkinson’s program and associate professor at the College of Osteopathic Medicine (NYITCOM), as well as a patient caregiver. News 12 also aired a televised segment about the event.
