Local Media Interviews Parkinson’s Expert

Newsday noted New York Tech’s Parkinson’s Center in an article about inpatient Parkinson’s disease rehabilitation at nearby Glen Cove Hospital (Glen Cove, N.Y.). In speaking with reporter Maura McDermott, the Center’s Director Adena Leder, D.O., a neurologist and movement disorders specialist, shared valuable insight on the neuroprotective benefits of exercise. She also commended the hospital for its efforts to enhance patients’ independence and mobility through exercise, much like the Center does through its own wellness classes, such as Rock Steady Boxing, Tai Chi, and dance therapy.
