Neuroscience Expert Tapped for Insight
Associate Professor of Biomedical Sciences Raddy Ramos, Ph.D., is featured in a Philadelphia Inquirer article discussing the growing number of students who are pursuing a neuroscience degree around the Philadelphia region. For many, it’s personal as they know someone in their life with Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, or another brain-related condition. For others, the field offers an interdisciplinary education that can lead to a variety of careers.
Ramos, a neuroscientist in the College of Osteopathic Medicine, says that since 2008 the number of colleges offering neuroscience majors has grown from 100 to 330, with the number of neuroscience graduates more than tripling from 2,000 to 7,200.
