Future Bears Roar on to Campus
Pictured: New Student Orientation’s August session on the Long Island campus. Students visited New York Tech’s Long Island and New York City’s campuses, where they made new friends, familiarized themselves with campus, and learned valuable insight from their orientation leaders.
Blue and yellow balloon arches welcomed New York Tech’s newest class of students as they arrived at Salten Hall and the Edward Guiliano Global Center on the Long Island and New York City campuses, respectively, for New Student Orientation sessions in July and August. The future Bears made new friends, familiarized themselves with the university they will soon call home, and learned valuable insight from their orientation leaders.

The in-person events welcomed the new students and their families with swag like pins, T-shirts, and socks, bearing New York Tech’s mascot, Roary. Students received information packets, broke the ice with their future classmates, and snacked on bagels and coffee while their orientation leaders led the crowd in games and tours around the buildings where they will soon spend much of their time.
On September 5, a virtual New Student Academic Convocation will be held to celebrate the beginning of their academic careers at New York Tech. In-person watch parties on the Long Island and New York City campuses will offer the opportunity for students to meet their peer success guides, learn about all that the school has to help them succeed, and socialize with their peers over a few scoops of ice cream.
