As she pursues her doctorate in occupational therapy (OTD), Alicia Terry Jones is focused on her goal of working in an elementary school setting to help fill the gap of OT professionals in schools, as well as giving back to her community by providing resources to people of color to increase their access to care.

Students Raise Money for Refugee Artists
School of Health Professions students traveled to Athens, Greece, last summer, where they worked with displaced refugees in art therapy workshops. On February 10, the students took to a local Boys and Girls Club to display the artwork and donate proceeds to the artists.

Improving Health, One Posture Check at a Time
The School of Health Professions’ Department of Physical Therapy has long been a source of information about how to improve body movement to recover from, and ideally avoid, injury. With its service initiative, Posture Patrol, physical therapy students are working to improve the posture, and health, of the New York Tech community, one member at a time.
Wisser Building is Renamed
At a dedication ceremony on June 20, the Wisser building on the Long Island campus was officially renamed the Peter and Barbara Ferentinos Health Science Building, honoring the building’s namesakes for their continued support of New York Tech.
