The objective of this survey is to gather information about the epidemiology of cancer in Bangladesh. Bangladesh is the eighth most populous country in the world with 156 million people. Of these, 1.3–1.5 million people suffer from cancer. This puts cancer as the sixth most common cause of death, accounting for 10% of deaths in the country. Through this survey we want to classify the types of cancer that Bangladesh is suffering from. Then, identify the most common types of cancer, along with demographic, environmental and socioeconomic factors that affect morbidity and mortality in Bangladesh and much more. This survey will be conducted retrospectively through interviews with patients and their families. Patient safety and confidentiality will be maintained and all the interviews will be taken with the patient's informed consent. All the rules and regulations of ethical research set forth by the International Review Board will be strictly observed. The goal of this survey is to gather information that can be used effectively to partner with healthcare facilities in Bangladesh to set up rotations for NYITCOM students and provide free healthcare to the distressed cancer patients in Bangladesh.
