As seen in industry news outlets, including Construction Superintendent, Engineering News Record, and Built Offsite, the School of Architecture and Design’s Center for Offsite Construction has collaborated with the International Code Council to develop a standard for modular construction. The publication, “CFOC/ICC 1220 Standard on Configurations and Connections for Off-Site Construction,” is expected to be available by May 31, 2026, and is anticipated to accelerate the adoption of off-site construction practices in various applications, including multifamily housing, commercial developments, and institutional projects.

“This partnership will support the growth of industrialized construction methods and ensure that off-site construction systems meet the highest standards of performance and interoperability,” Jason Van Nast, M.Arch., director of the Center for Offsite Construction, told Built Offsite.
