DEI Series: Mass Incarceration and Restorative Justice

February 8, 2022
12:30 PM – 1:45 PM

What is the history of policing and the criminal justice system in the U.S. and how does this history impact marginalized communities in their daily lives?

How can we generate awareness and compassion for incarcerated peoples, as well as concrete actions to create a society built on restorative justice instead of punitive justice? In this panel, panelists will discuss systemic racism, activism, and how to move towards restorative justice from the perspective of the NYC metropolitan area.

This Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) Series event is sponsored by the Office of Student Engagement & Development as part of the Time to Talk: Community Connections initiative.
