Decoupage (or découpage) is the art of decorating an object by gluing paper cutouts onto it. Simple, yes, but the result can be very pretty and the process a great way to relieve stress.

In this 45 minute session, you will learn basic tips and techniques to upcycle an old or used item.

What to bring:

Required:

  • Scissors*
  • A smooth object made of glass or ceramic, such as an old jar (spaghetti sauce), candle holder, vase, or plate*
  • A rag to clean up*

Provided at the in-person sessions in Long Island and New York City:

  • Decorative napkins, tissue paper, or wrapping paper
  • Mod Podge, available at many Dollar Tree stores, Michaels, Targets, or here. Watered down Elmer's Glue would also work.
  • A paint brush, ½ inch to 1 inch, flat bristled
