Pathway Program – ESL

Have you had difficulty getting the test scores you need to enter a college program, but still wish to pursue a degree? Have you scored at least a 5.0 on the IELTS, 41 on the TOEFL iBT, or 36 on the Pearson PTE? Congratulations! You qualify for our Pathway Program with the English Language Institute at New York Tech.

Broken down into three semester-based levels, you will take 15 hours of English classes per week in addition to 3–6 academic credits that correspond to your proficiency level.

Unlike other colleges, our Pathway Program is managed exclusively by New York Tech to give you the maximum opportunity to prepare for coursework at our institution. We also offer electives that will give you the edge you need for your academic and professional career, including technical English for engineering students, business English for management students, and portfolio/brand building for communication and digital arts students.

Point of entry into credit-bearing coursework will be determined by the admitting academic program. The academic program will indicate whether students can enter at Level 3, 4, or 5 and prescribe a series of Pathway Program-eligible courses at both the undergraduate and graduate level. A minimum of one academic credit counting towards the academic program will be taken by a student during the Pathway Program.

If you are a serious student who wishes to excel at your studies and significantly improve your English, you’ve found the right program!
