Tim Loughlin specializes in applied mathematics with his research specifically focused on its application in network theory. He has been department chair for 29 years and has taught most of the courses offered by the department. He has served in the Academic Senate at New York Tech as Vice President and on many committees including the Executive Committee.

Loughlin received his Ph.D. and M.S. degrees in Mathematics from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, N.Y. He received his B.S. degree in Engineering from SUNY at Stony Brook.
