Sandra Kopecky is an alumni of New York Tech, with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (1988) and Master of Science in Computer Science (2011). She is currently in the process of completing her Ph.D. in Computer Science at Pace University. During Kopecky's time between degrees, she has worked in many positions from programmer and programmer analyst to database developer and DBA. She has worked as a contractor/consultant and been involved in many high-level projects such as the Tomahawk Upgrade with McDonnell Douglas and a multilevel security system for the U.S. Air Force through GTE. She has also helped on smaller short-term projects with Monsanto and Univision.

Kopecky's project for her master's degree was part of the collaboration between Motorola and New York Tech, and she developed a useful application for the golden-i device. She is a member of UPE and IEEE. She has been a panel speaker at New York Tech's Cybersecurity conference in 2014, a panel speaker for New York Tech's STEAM conference in 2015, a panel speaker with AAUW in 2015, a panel speaker with WeConnectTheDots in 2016, and a panel speaker with Girls Inc. in 2016.
