Puyan Taheri teaches technical communication for the graduate programs at New York Tech's Vancouver campus. He is a seasoned and dedicated professional in the field of Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) and Applied Linguistics. He received his Ph.D. in TEFL in 2014 from the University of Tehran. He obtained his TESOL Advanced Diploma in 2022 in Canada.

With a rich academic background and 21 years of hands-on teaching experience, Taheri has made significant contributions to the education sector, leaving an indelible mark on both national and international platforms. He is experienced in teaching at universities, institutes, and corporations and committed to establishing rapport with students with multicultural backgrounds. He promotes an always-learning, cooperative, and can-do approach in his work environments.

He has published several papers in highly indexed journals and presented lectures at many international conferences. He has also written five EAP (English for Academic Purposes) books that are taught at universities in Iran. His Ph.D. dissertation explored Dynamic Assessment in Listening Comprehension. He is also interested in investigating written corrective feedback.
