Gabby Guilhon, Ph.D., specializes in comparative anatomy, functional morphology, and evolutionary biology of marsupial mammals such as opossums, kangaroos, and koalas. She is particularly interested in mammalian functional morphology and locomotion, using linear morphometrics, gross dissections, and 3-D imaging for comparative analysis. In addition, Guilhon teaches the laboratory of Gross Anatomy for Foundations of Osteopathic Medicine.
She is a trained taxidermist specializing in small and medium mammals for both collection and exhibition forms, as well as a pathology technician, covering clinical hematology, biochemistry, urinalysis, immunology, parasitology, and phlebotomy with professional experience.
Guilhon received her Ph.D. in Zoology from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG, Brazil), which is associated with Harvard University in 2023; a master's degree in Zoology from the National Museum of Rio de Janeiro in 2017; a specialist graduate degree in BioScience and Health Teaching from Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (Fiocruz); and a bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences from Federal University of Rio de Janeiro in 2015.
