Responsibilities or Position Duties:
The Advising & Enrichment Center (AEC) is looking for a qualified Graduate Assistant for the NYIT Learning Center in Long Island for Fall 2021 (with possibility to extend into future semesters). We are looking for a dedicated and creative graduate student to join our team. The graduate assistant will oversee the smooth day-to-day operation of the Learning Center Online, and be tasked projects and various other duties throughout the semester to aid in the continuous improvement of the center, and the Academic Enrichment resources we offer. Roles and Responsibilities: -Work productively and autonomously during work hours. -Support and advise our student employees (Tutors, OLA’s and SI Leaders) -Manage the Learning Center email throughout entire shift, including regular emails to tutors -Manage the tutoring schedule using our appointment management software (Navigate) -Respond to student inquiries & requests for tutoring appointments -Research college readiness topics and tutoring techniques and ideas -Conduct data analysis and run weekly reports -Communicate with staff and faculty within other departments campus as necessary -Work collaboratively with other graduate assistants on ongoing projects and tasks -Support the Senior Enrichment Specialist and general functions of the AEC as needed -Complete assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner -Act appropriately and professionally in situations that may arise -Handle confidential information with discretion -Keep accurate weekly timesheets -Other duties as needed and assigned

Qualifications:
Qualifications (Required) -Must currently reside in New York during semester in which they will work. 3.25 CUM GPA -Minimum of one semester completed in a Graduate Program at NYIT or -Completed an Undergraduate degree from NYIT are now attending Graduate School, having a min. 3.25 Undergraduate GPA (Faculty or campus supervisor recommendation required) -Proficient in Google Drive and MS office (Word, Excel) -Strong commitment to providing excellent customer service -Responsible and reliable -Ability to work autonomously -Excellent written & verbal communication skills Qualifications (Preferred) -Knowledge of academic support and enrichment services -Strong work ethic, initiative, punctuality and integrity -Ability to follow directions, seek out clarification, and accept feedback -Able to communicate effectively one on one and in group settings -Pursuing a degree in the Social Sciences, Education, Counseling, Marketing, -Management, or similar areas -Time management skills including organization and prioritization of tasks and personal schedule -Problem Solving, Critical Thinking & Creative Thinking
