Student Engagement by Faculty or Professional Staff
Recognizes individuals or teams who have developed and used innovative strategies to increase student engagement in extracurricular activities and/or service learning opportunities in and beyond the NYIT community.
To be eligible for this award, individuals and groups whose job responsibilities include providing student services must have gone beyond job requirements to propose significant improvements in standard practice to increase active student engagement.
Eligibility: All full- and part-time faculty members or employees whose job responsibilities include providing student services.
Nominations should consist of a 250-word narrative about how the nominee meets the criteria for a specific award. The Presidential Engagement Awards Committee will review these initial submissions and invite the strongest nominees to complete a follow-up application with more detail as specified in the award criteria, including evidence of improved learning, satisfaction, teaching, student engagement, and/or research results.
Entries will be judged according to:
- Documentation of positive changes in student engagement.
- Evidence of the impact of the engagement strategies on improved learning.
