COVID Vaccination Update

May 12, 2021

Dear New York Tech community,

As recommended by New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo earlier this week, New York Tech plans to require proof of vaccination for all students attending in-person classes this fall if the vaccine receives full approval from the Food and Drug Administration. As we have stated previously, we will continue to monitor that approval process and follow state and CDC vaccination, safety, and mitigation guidelines.

At this time, we continue to urge all members of our community who are medically eligible to get vaccinated as soon as possible. Based on recent CDC recommendations, those who are vaccinated will have less restrictions and bring our campus one step closer to normalcy. As more information and new guidelines become available, we will provide updates and revise recommendations.

We continue to plan for the fall and will share a “Return to Campus” policy for employees when it becomes available. We thank you for your patience and perseverance as we move toward a new post-COVID campus environment.

Sincerely,

Hank Foley, Ph.D.
President, New York Institute of Technology
