A Perfect Opportunity

Natalia Chancafe chose to attend New York Institute of Technology because of the university’s many opportunities and resources available to students. “From the beginning of my journey in searching for a school, New York Tech always stood out to me for this reason,” says Chancafe. She was also impressed with the school’s diversity. Chancafe sat down with New York Tech News to talk about her major, communication and media production, and her plans for the future.

What are you most looking forward to at New York Tech?
I enjoy meeting new people, so I am most looking forward to meeting all of my new professors and making friends. I have already gotten to know a few people that will be joining the freshman class this year, and everyone is so different!

What are you planning to study?
I am pursuing a career in communications and media production. After joining the TV club at my local arts school and participating in the New Jersey high school film festival, I realized I wanted to continue in the media industry. My aunt also influenced me. She was a news reporter in Dallas, Texas for Univision and later became a producer. I look up to her and would love to follow in her footsteps.

How do you think your New York Tech education will help prepare you for your future career? 
I believe New York Tech will provide me with so many resources and opportunities that I will be able to fully achieve my goals. I have already spoken with and gotten to know some of the staff members, and I feel so confident that this school will always have my back and help me with anything that I want do.
