September 26, 2018

NYIT School of Architecture and Design’s undergraduate architecture program made its debut on DesignIntelligence’s list of “Top-Ranked Architecture & Design Schools” published on September 18, 2018. NYIT ranked No. 31 in the United States based on surveys of three key audiences:

  • 6,119 professionals who hire architecture and design graduates talk about the schools they most admire, the ones they hire from the most, and how recent graduates are performing in 12 key focus areas such as design theory and practice, design technology, and communications.
  • 359 deans, program chairs, and department heads who report on major changes in their course offerings.
  • 5,451 students and recent graduates who offer their perspective on the quality of the programs they studied in and how prepared they feel in key skill areas.

“We are thrilled by this significant result. DesignIntellingence is the most reputable platform for architecture and design program rankings at the national level,” says Maria R. Perbellini, M.Arch., Dean of the School of Architecture and Design. “Our ranking confirms that our progressive vision promoting evolving curricula through the application of digital technologies and specialized innovative research place us on a path of competitive success. This is very encouraging. We will continue with the ambition to aspire to be among the best architecture and design schools in the U.S. and abroad.”

DesignIntelligence, an independent company dedicated to the business success of firms and organizations in architecture, engineering, construction (A/E/C) and design, has conducted surveys to determine the top-ranked schools in architecture and design since 1999.
