New York Institute of Technology to Host THE/WSJ Rankings Event, U.S. Student Success Forum

August 6, 2019

New York Institute of Technology has partnered with Times Higher Education (THE) to co-organize the 2019 THE U.S. Student Success Forum. This year’s prestigious all-day forum at NYIT Auditorium on Broadway on Thursday, September 5, 2019, will focus on “Enabling Student Success.”

The forum will feature some of the most respected and influential university presidents and higher education leaders in the United States, who will discuss ideas and initiatives for improving student outcomes. The day will kick off with a panel discussion on institutional strategies for student success, chaired by New York Institute of Technology President Hank Foley, Ph.D., and featuring University of Missouri Chancellor Alexander Cartwright, Ph.D., SUNY Senior Vice Chancellor and Provost Tod Laursen, Ph.D., RIT President David Munson, Ph.D., and WPI Associate Dean Kristin Wobbe, Ph.D. The remainder of the program, featuring leaders of institutions including NYU, The New School, Grinnell and Stevens Institute of Technology, will focus on student success in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) disciplines; how institutions can foster resilience in students as they grapple with the demands of college life; and effective strategies to ensure that undergraduates thrive during their studies. A copy of the full program is available online.

Prior to the all-day forum, a reception and announcement of the fourth annual 2019 Wall Street Journal/THE College Rankings will be hosted THE CEO Trevor Barratt, and The Wall Street Journal Editor in Chief Matt Murray, in partnership with NYIT, on the evening of September 4. Participants will be among the first to hear which institutions are gaining ground on the “big beasts” of U.S. higher education by using innovative practices to challenge the traditional elite order of American universities.

Participants are invited to register online to attend the forum and rankings reception.
