The New York Institute of Technology community celebrated their school spirit on September 20 through 22 at Homecoming and Family Weekend 2019. The weekend kicked off with the Bears of the Last Decade (BOLD) Alumni Reception on September 20 where the New York Tech community welcomed the class of 2019. On September 21, attendees participated in a number of activities throughout the day, including taking in the men’s and women’s lacrosse alumni games, the Benjamin J. Cecil 5K Walkathon and Fun Run for Independence, campus tours, Bingo in the Bear’s Den, and painted pumpkins at the pumpkin patch hosted by the Student Government Association. The crowd later gathered in the Bear’s Den where they were greeted by New York Tech President Hank Foley, Ph.D., who spoke about the university’s initiatives followed by a Q&A. Then it was back outside for a barbecue and games. The day ended with a viewing of Toy Story 4.

To top it off, the men’s soccer team beat Daemen 3-0. The women’s soccer team also took on Daemen and drew 1-1.

On Sunday, the community cheered on the New York Yankees against the Toronto Blue Jays. The event was in support of the Debra A. Vogel Student Advancement Program.
