Student Government Association

New York Tech's Student Government Association (SGA) is the official voice of the student body. SGA advocates on behalf of student interests—academic, cultural, and special interest. SGA is charged with working with the college's faculty and administration to improve every facet of the student experience.

In addition to acting as a liaison with New York Tech's administration, SGA oversees the budgeting process for all recognized student organizations, and supports a variety of campus-wide events.

For the Students, By the Students

Joining SGA is a great way to enjoy your years in college. Become an agent of change at New York Tech and on the Long Island campus by taking on a leadership role in SGA.

New York Tech Leadership Development Programs

Through our BEAR (Be Engaged and Roar) Into Leadership program, New York Tech offers several leadership development programs to help students identify and develop their leadership skills, including First-Year Experience (FYE) Leadership Program, designed to help new students acclimate to New York Tech and develop key life and leadership skills. Additional programs are open to current students at all levels.

The Office of Student Life strives to create a sense of community that promotes equity, social justice, self-discovery, student achievement, and diversity through the creation and support of student-centered initiatives and activities. We accomplish this mission through the development of personal educational opportunities and training, as well as active engagement and participation in campus and community life.
