About Our Long Island (Old Westbury) Campus

New York Tech's Long Island (Old Westbury) campus, formally known as the Dorothy and Alexander Schure Old Westbury Campus after the founder of the university, is nestled among 176 wooded and landscaped acres. A tranquil and lush setting, it comprises the former C.V. Whitney estate as well as several other Gold Coast Long Island estates.

Many original buildings were reconstructed for our students' use but still retain their exterior charm. Newer buildings are low, modern structures surrounded by trees and open vistas, connected via walkways through woods and meadows. The campus includes:

  • David G. Salten Hall, featuring a large auditorium, cafeteria, bookstore, lounge, and the Office of Career Services

  • Harry Schure Hall, which houses the Enrollment Services Center, classrooms, academic and computing labs, the Entrepreneurship and Technology Innovation Center, and more

  • Midge Karr Fine Arts and Design Center, offering studio and classroom space, a state-of-the-art motion capture facility, gallery space, and print studio

  • Wisser Memorial Library, which houses our main library as well as classrooms and administrative offices

  • Student Activity Center, with recreation room, performance space, student lounge and cafeteria, gym, and fitness center

  • Education Hall, featuring architecture studios, labs, library, gallery, and classrooms as well as a TV studio

  • NYIT de Seversky Mansion, built in 1918 for Alfred I. Du Pont, a world-class catering venue and home to academic and administrative offices
