Information Technology Services (ITS) realizes that New York Tech community members have technological needs that extend beyond the day-to-day of campus life. To this end, we have compiled the following resources to help you with your personal computing needs.

Computer Hardware Discounts

New York Tech recommends that students own a personal device – either a laptop or a desktop. Some departments actually require it and have very specific minimum requirements – see the "Minimum Computer Requirements & Computer Resources” page. To help you, ITS has partnered with the following hardware manufacturers to provide personal discounts to New York Tech students, faculty, and staff:

Please consider purchasing an extended warranty plan and accidental damage protection for any device you purchase. ITS does not provide hardware support for personal devices.

Computer Software Discounts

New York Tech offers a broad slection of software titles for free or at discounted rates to current students, faculty and staff. Some software may require minimum system requirements and you should verify your device is capable of running the software prior to installing. If the software that you need is not on the list, be sure to ask the seller if they have an education discount.

Internet Service Providers

The following are Internet Service Provider options in the Long Island / NYC area:

Discounted Internet Service: Students may also be eligible for additional discounts through the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) – a program that helps low-income households pay for access to Internet services for computers and mobile devices.
