Rap Game Workshop: Ladies First Edition

It's Womxn's History Month. Why not celebrate with a little touch of ladies first? Have you ever considered that the way you think about rap lyrics can be applied to your research? Have you ever listened to a diss track and looked up what it was in reference to?

In this workshop, we will be investigating and comparing narratives in Queen Latifah's "Ladies First" and Beyonce's "***Flawless", both pivotal to the way that hip hop has acted as a vehicle for the expression of the Black experience in the United States, and the Black female experience. We will be thinking critically about how the same research methods that you use informally can be applied to your formal research papers and projects. You already know what you are doing, you just aren't thinking about it in the same way.
