“Poets in New York/Poetas en Nueva York” is a celebration of Spanish-American poetry in English and Spanish by poets and translators living in the New York City area.
Inspired by Lorca's Poet in New York (Poeta en Nueva York) as well as the work of Jorge Luis Borges, this reading will feature poetry from countries including Argentina, Peru, the Dominican Republic and Spain.
Sponsored by Red Harlem Readers, the event will include performances by Mariela Dreyfus (with Gabriel Amor), Edgar Smith, Marisol Espaillat, Gary Racz, Terese Coe, Daniel Shapiro, Anne Whitehouse, and David M. Katz. Prof. Terese Coe (NYIT) will read from her translations of Jorge Luis Borges.
