National Coming Out Day is an annual campaign that celebrates coming out as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, or queer (LGBTQ). This event serves as a celebration of the authenticity and courage displayed by individuals when coming out, as well as providing awareness of the discrimination, violence, harassment, and bullying of LGBTQ people around the world. National Coming Out Day aims to create a welcoming environment for all NYIT community members to express themselves freely and to build allies and advocates for equity and inclusion. Giveaways and tokens of support and encouragement will be handed out to participants.
