Speaker: Roger Yu, Ph.D., Dean Emeritus, Professor and Chair, Department of Physics
Classical musical halls and opera houses are unique in their architectural design simply because the sound requirements are different from other types of music. This design enables audiences to maximize their enjoyment of this purely analog music. We will explore, at a basic level, the criteria that makes a space fit for certain types of music. Our discussion will be focused on concert halls for classical music including opera, and will briefly highlight an extension of Dr. Yu’s research into the music world.Join us on Zoom
