The American Occupational Therapy Association's (AOTA) National Backpack Awareness Event

Hosted by second-year Community Health Occupational Therapy students

The department of Occupational Therapy is hosting the AOTA's National Backpack Awareness Day. The goal of National Backpack Awareness Day is to inform students, staff, faculty, and administrators about tips and strategies to avoid the pain and injury that can come from carrying heavy backpacks and bags. The NYIT community will have the opportunity to weigh their bags and learn safety tips including how to properly choose, pack, lift, and carry various types of bags—including backpacks, purses, briefcases, and suitcases.

A North Face backpack will be raffled. Free water bottles while supplies last!
