Interdisciplinary Studies

Message from the Chair

Designing your own major is more challenging—and potentially more satisfying—than selecting a pre-defined major. It’s a way to follow your passions and create an individual course of study that’s based on your interests. If you’re someone who wants to pursue a career on your own terms, then a degree in interdisciplinary studies may be right for you.

Or maybe you’re a transfer student , veteran, or even a current NYIT student looking to change majors. Our flexible program will allow you to apply your previous course work and professional experiences towards a B.A., B.S., or B.P.S. that suits your academic and career goals while ensuring a timely graduation.

Our program is committed to experiential learning through internships and service-learning courses that will provide you with the kind of professional workplace experience that will demonstrate to employers that you are “ready to hire.” And regardless of how you map out your coursework, we’ll make sure that you’ll graduate with the technical, creative, and people skills demanded by top companies worldwide.

Feel free to contact me at if you have any questions. We’re here to help you create the career you want. I look forward to seeing you at one of our New York campuses soon.
