Strategic Messaging

The Strategic Messaging staff develops and implements clear, consistent, and effective communications that strengthen New York Institute of Technology’s brand, brings to life the university’s mission and strategic vision, support student recruitment and retention, and build support for the institution among key constituencies. Our integrated strategic messaging is implemented via editorial and internal communications (New York Institute of Technology Magazine, News blog, Annual Report), the website, social media channels, advertising, media relations, and marketing campaigns and collateral materials.

Advertising

Strategic Communications works with an award-winning agency to produce print, radio, and digital advertisements for recruitment, brand recognition, and engagement. Ad buys are coordinated with our advertising agency to reach key demographic audiences, primarily prospective students and decision-makers.

More

Program Advertising/Promotion

Given the university's vast and varied degree programs, institutional advertising campaigns strategically target priorities determined by the university's administration and do not include all academic programs and initiatives. If you require assistance in promoting an individual program or initiative to external audiences, please reach out to us.

Journal Advertising

We can support the design and transmittal of journal advertisements that are paid for by an individual department or school/college. Submit your request, including ad specifications (size), message, payment code, and deadline. Due to the large number of requests we receive, we ask that you give at least us six weeks notice prior to the deadline.

Employee Recruitment

Classified employee recruitment advertising and postings may only be authorized/requested by the Office of Human Resources.

Internal Communications

We offer an array of channels for you to get the word out to our community of faculty, staff, students, and alumni around the world…or around the corner.

News Blog

The university’s news blog welcomes students, faculty experts, staff members, and alumni to submit ideas for inclusion, especially when they are relevant to the entire New York Tech community. We are occasionally in need of charismatic visual storytellers skilled at creating infographics, animations, illustrations, and/or videos—so share your talents with us. Contact us and let us know about your news.

Bulk (Mass) Internal Emails

New York Tech has a bulk email system that allows us to share information with specific audiences (faculty, students, staff) by campus location or academic school (or all of the above). Generally speaking, the bulk email system is reserved for large-scale institutional announcements, such as administrative policies, event announcements/evites, holiday greetings, or high-level messages from senior administration.

For most messages, there is a procedure and approval process that must be followed by anyone requesting that a bulk email be sent. Once approval is granted, we will work with you on the content of your message and any design work that is required (please allow 2–3 weeks if you require design work to be done).

To request a bulk email, please place a request.

Digital Signage

On most New York Tech campuses, interior and exterior digital signs are used to share timely information about news and events. In most instances, SC develops and designs the content for the signs. Sometimes, we are able to use original work as long as it follows guidelines specified in our Editorial Style Guide and Design Style Guide. To have your news or event posted, please place a request.

Portal (my.nyit.edu) Posting

To post your message or other information in the my.nyit.edu portal (the university’s portal for students, faculty, and staff), please place a request. Messages can be targeted to students, faculty, or staff or to a specific campus location.

Web (nyit.edu) Postings

The website is the university’s main marketing communications vehicle for the New York Tech community and those just learning about the university. Offices and departments throughout the university have direct access to the main calendar of events. In order to have a unified brand message, all users should follow the Editorial Style Guide when posting on nyit.edu.

In addition, our web team can help you with access and training. For requests related to content on the home page as well as other parts of the website, please place a request.

By featuring engaging stories about our alumni, students, and faculty and the latest news from our global campuses, the magazine showcases the best of New York Tech and demonstrates the university’s commitment to technology, research, and career-oriented education.
