"Commuter Plus" Non-Residential Student Meal Plan

This plan is designed for non-residential students who plan to dine in our retail locations on campus such as Salten Hall, Riland Café, Education Hall, the Sac Servery and the Metro Café.

Terms and Conditions:

  • In order to enroll, non-residential NYIT students must add a minimum deposit of $50.00 to their "Commuter Plus" dining services plan.
  • The term of this Meal Plan Agreement is from September 1, 2019 through May 30, 2020 (the "Term").
  • During the Term, the non-residential student will be eligible to save 8.625% sales tax on purchases made at the Old Westbury campus dining services retail locations and 8.875% tax on purchases made at the Metro Café located at the NYC campus.
  • Any funds that are returned as unpaid for insufficient funds will result in the reversal of those funds from the declining balance.
  • Any "Commuter Plus Meal Plan" balance will expire on May 30, 2020, and funds do not carry over from one year to the next.
  • In the event that a student is dismissed or withdraws from NYIT, the funds are forfeited and are non-refundable.

Long Island Campus Residential Students

Residential Costs Per Semester for Academic Year 2019–2020

  • Single: $5,630
  • Double: $4,750
  • Deposit: $355
  • Damage Deposit, per term: $75 (refunded if no damages are assessed)
  • Contract Liquidation Fee: $375 (if you cancel your housing before moving in after Jan. 1 for spring or July 1 for fall)

Meal Plan

Required for all students residing in NYIT housing on the SUNY Old Westbury campus: $2,485 per semester

Includes:

  • $1,160 in Dining Dollars to use at any NYIT dining facility, credited to your NYIT ID card.
  • Choice of SUNY Old Westbury meal plan:
    • 10 SUNY cafeteria meals and $485 SUNY dining dollars
    • 14 SUNY cafeteria meals and $435 SUNY dining dollars
    • 19 SUNY cafeteria meals and $380 SUNY dining dollars

In addition you can use Retail Meals at SUNY during the semester which do not count as flex dollars or meal swipes and can be used Mondos Subs, Nathan's, and Sonos.

Unused NYIT Dining Dollars or Flex Funds do not roll over to the next semester. SUNY dining dollars may be used in all SUNY dining facilities. Unused SUNY dollars are rolled over from fall to spring semester and may be used over intersession, but expire at the end of spring semester. You may pay for a guest’s meal with your NYIT or SUNY dining dollars, but may not use two meal plan meals at once.

New York City Campus Residential Students

  • Damage Deposit, per term: $137.50 (refunded if no damages are assessed)

Andersen Hall, Manhattan School of Music

Meal Plan

  • Residents of Andersen Hall: First-year students will have a declining balance meal plan ($1,307.50 per semester) at the Manhattan School of Music’s dining hall. This amount, which is included in the cost of the room, will cover the cost of most dining hall meals. For meals at the NYIT Café on campus, you will receive $100 in dining dollars credited to your NYIT Student ID card.
  • Residents of Riverside Residence Hall: As there is no meal plan offered at Riverside Hall, you will be responsible for your own meals. There are kitchens on each floor and you may have a refrigerator and microwave in your room. You will also receive $200 in Dining Dollars, credited to your student ID card, to spend in the NYIT Café on campus.
