News Byte: NYITCOM-Arkansas Medical Clinic Gets New Look

May 25, 2021

NYITCOM-Arkansas took over operations of the Arkansas State University Student Health Center in 2019. In an effort to attract new patients from the Jonesboro community, the NYITCOM at A-State Medical Clinic recently received an exterior makeover.

The clinic will continue to serve A-State students, faculty, and staff but is also open to the general public. The clinic is staffed by NYITCOM’s faculty physicians who see patients in addition to their roles as clinical medicine professors at the medical school.

The multi-specialty clinic includes physicians who are board-certified in pediatrics, infectious disease, OB/GYN, family medicine, and osteopathic manipulative medicine.

“It’s a really unique clinic in that we have a number of different specialties available in the same facility,” said Shane Speights, D.O., site dean of NYITCOM-Arkansas. “We’re proud to have the opportunity to serve the A-State campus and general public while providing a clinical environment for our faculty physicians and students.”

The NYITCOM at A-State Medical Clinic is located adjacent to the St. Bernards Urgent Care facility and just south of Centennial Bank Stadium on the Arkansas State University campus.

“It’s a very convenient location for the A-State community as well as the general public,” Speights said. “It’s a great facility that will be utilized to provide quality care to patients.”
