May 7, 2021

New York Tech Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Jerry Balentine, D.O., FACEP, FACOEP, is among 33 business and nonprofit leaders who have been named to the 2021 Long Island Business News (LIBN) Executive Circle. The award celebrates Long Island-based senior-level executives who consistently demonstrate remarkable leadership skills, integrity, values, vision, commitment to excellence, company performance, and community service.

Balentine accepted his award during LIBN’s May 6 virtual awards ceremony, which highlighted his research on non-academic interventions with medical students to help them increase empathy and decrease burnout, as well as his role as author and editor for many medical journals. In his pre-recorded remarks, Balentine shared what led him to higher education and New York Institute of Technology and the College of Osteopathic Medicine.

New York Tech was a major sponsor of the awards ceremony, which was hosted by LIBN Associate Publisher Ali Jabbour and Editor Joe Dowd. The event included congratulations messages from local elected officials and a keynote by Northwell Health President and CEO Michael Dowling, who spoke about the roles and responsibilities that leaders have within their organizations and larger communities. The awards will be part of a special feature in the May 7 edition of Long Island Business News.
