2016 Debra A. Vogel Student Advancement Leadership Luncheon

May 13, 2016

The Debra A. Vogel Student Advancement Leadership Luncheon was held on April 29 at the NYIT de Seversky Mansion Conference Center. The event celebrated outstanding student leaders, faculty advisors, and industry partners, and was hosted by the School of Management and Robert Koenig, Ed.D., associate professor and executive director for Student Advancement Programs.

“This year’s reception was one of our most elegant functions with beautiful programs, ice carvings, an ensemble of classical musicians, a gospel performance, and our first Beta Gamma Sigma Induction Ceremony,” said Koenig.

Debra A. Vogel, the event’s namesake and the president and owner of Paradigm Management, LLC, offered the students words of advice as they embark on their future careers. Her advice included greeting people with a strong handshake and a smile.

Harsha Vimalchand, a student in the Master of Business Administration in Decision Science program, received the Student Advancement Leadership Award for her dedication and commitment to her studies.

The luncheon ended with the Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society induction ceremony. Beta Gamma Sigma is an international honor society for undergraduate and graduate students that recognizes, encourages, and honors academic achievement in the study of business.

The mission of the Debra A. Vogel Student Advancement Program is to prepare students for a global career by emphasizing civic responsibility; personal growth; and cooperative, team-driven experiences. Core program principles include integrity, values, ethics, professionalism, and leadership.
