Vanessa Newman is a New York Institute of Technology alumna (Class of '16) who decided to stay at the university and work in higher education. She originally worked as an admissions counselor. Recently, she has transitioned into a new role as director of STEM After School Programs.

Newman is passionate about creating a knowledge pipeline by which New York Tech students pass along the knowledge they are gaining here. University students are in a position to inspire younger achievers so that they, in turn, can succeed both academically and professionally.

Since 2017, Newman has served as the advisor for the university’s chapter of the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) in New York City.
