Pejman Sanaei is an assistant professor in the Department of Mathematics at New York Institute of Technology. Previously (2017–2019), he was an instructor at the Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences (CIMS) at New York University. He also worked in the Applied Math Lab and Research and Training Group in Mathematical Modeling and Simulation at CIMS.

Sanaei received his Ph.D (2017) in applied mathematics from New Jersey Institute of Technology, where he worked in the Complex Flows and Soft Matter Group. He has expertise in fluid mechanics, deterministic and stochastic approaches to mathematical modeling, tissue engineering, and applications of mathematics to industry. His dissertation was on mathematical modeling of membrane filtration.
