Dafina Myrick-Anadon served as a Communications and Information Officer in the United States Air Force for 10 years. She led teams of graphic designers, photographers, videographers, government news crews, and publication distributors. Her accomplishments included certification and accreditation of secure networks at Malmstrom Air Force Base, Montana; strategic planning, requirements review, and web training and strategy at the Information Assurance Directorate (IAD), Fort Meade, Md.; program/project management, test planning, and analysis at the Air Force Test & Evaluation Center, New Mexico; speaker at the Women in Military Service For America Memorial in Arlington, Va.; plus special appointments to chair, plan, and orate cross-service parades, charity fundraisers, awards ceremonies, installation art projects, and media coverage events. After her distinguished service, Myrick-Anadon embarked on a career change marrying art and technology. She worked as a freelance web and graphic designer in Los Angeles. During her time in Los Angeles, she was selected to join the underground art enclave Cannibal Flower, showcasing her works at The Fire House, The Hive Gallery and Studios, and various underground venues. In addition, she has showcased her work at Santa Monica Art Studios, Upper Playground (Los Angeles), supporting the Stoked Mentoring charity organization, and the Southern Virginia Artisan Center, and has won a web banner contest for Afro-Punk.com.
