Albert Tablante spent the first 15 years of his professional life as a tennis coach and tennis camp director. Inspired by a passion for research and lifelong learning, he earned a master’s in Library Science from Queens College of CUNY. His first library position was teaching information literacy at ASA College in Manhattan and Brooklyn. In seven years at this position, he helped develop the syllabus, textbook, libguides, and online learning modules for the course.

Tablante left academic libraries to spend four years in public librarianship. As a librarian in Brooklyn Public Library and Freeport Memorial Library, he won grants and pioneered creative programming in technology and humanities.

Tablante’s emerging technology interests include 3-D printing, virtual reality, and audio recording. He is the library liaison with NYIT College of Engineering and Computing Sciences.
