New York City Campus
Michael Schneider, LMSW
Michael received his Master's degree from Fordham University and has worked in the Education field for 23 years. Before starting as the Associate Director in 2008, Michael worked in a K-12 school district for ten years. He has had the unique perspective of working with students from Kindergarten all the way through Graduate School. In 2005 Michael became the Director of Counseling and Wellness and continues to enjoy working with his talented staff.
Tiffany Ciprian, LCSW
Tiffany received her Masters degree in clinical social work from Columbia University in 2009. She joined New York Tech in 2015 and enjoys helping students navigate the challenges of college and young adulthood. Tiffany also manages the New York Tech Peer Health Education (PHE) program which supports the health and wellness of the campus community through workshops, trainings, and education sessions conducted by trained PHE student leaders.
Long Island Campus
Alexandra Lo Re, LCSW
Ali received her Masters in Social Work from Adelphi University in 2012 and has been at NY Tech since 2018. She has a special interest in helping young adults navigate the challenges of their lives, especially those struggling with depression, anxiety, and trauma. She uses a variety of methods to help students develop healthier habits and gain more control over their lives. She has a rescue dog, Coda, who makes the occasional guest appearances on Zoom sessions. Outside of work, Ali loves playing sports and has been a high school club volleyball coach for 10 years.
Christine is the newest addition to the Counseling and Wellness team. She holds a Master’s degree in Social Work from Columbia University. Christine has almost 30 years of clinical experience working with diverse populations in various settings. Christine believes in applying a multi-model approach to empower students in building upon their inner strengths and improving their overall wellbeing.
Walter Mayer, LMSW
Long Island and New York City Campuses
Walter graduated with his Masters in Social Work degree from Adelphi University in 2011 and began working at NY Tech shortly thereafter. He has over a decade of experience working with young adults with disabilities who are navigating their path and building their success after high school. He took the position of Assistant Director of Accessibility Services in July 2019 and looks forward to continuing to serve the students of New York Tech!
