Friends of VIP
In 1999 the administration and VIP parents got together to form the Friends of VIP. The parents realized that tuition alone is not enough to provide our children with all the tools needed to achieve independence. In the beginning, the organization focused on fundraising and launched a $500,000 capital campaign. Our organization’s goals are to continue to raise funds and to ensure that our children have the opportunities to become independent. A number of committees have been created, including government services, housing, and parent resources, to support these efforts. The committee members have also participated in the strategic planning process to determine the future direction of VIP.

The Friends of VIP Government Resources Committee
The Government Resources Committee of the Friends of VIP was formed in April 2006. The purpose of the committee is to research, investigate, and report on federal, state, and local services available to our community and how these services may be accessed. We plan to serve as a clearinghouse of information and be available as a resource for families. We began by creating and distributing a questionnaire to all VIP families, to gather information on what government resources families know about.
