The admissions process at VIP is comprehensive. Each student takes part in an on-campus interview and is accompanied by a parent who provides a social history. Parents must provide testing evaluations and two letters of recommendation to the admissions committee.
VIP admits students with special needs who have demonstrated motivation to learn and become independent despite their learning difficulties. Ideal applicants are capable of successfully living in a dormitory environment. Many of them have a minimum fifth-grade reading level and are able to take responsibility for the majority of their daily living requirements.
Although our students possess certain conditions including learning disabilities, Asperger’s Syndrome, neurological impairments, and borderline intellectual functioning, they are well-behaved and motivated to succeed.
