Interesting Facts: Since joining NYIT less than four years ago, Webmaster Bobby Saha has been involved in not one, but two major relaunches of the NYIT Web site. Long days and even longer nights led to the success of the recent www.nyit.edu relaunch, which has already won an honorable mention in the IMA awards' education category. Bobby's charge? Overseeing all the technological aspects of the new site, including the selection and implementation of a robust content management system featuring a variety of social media tools, application development, bringing over content from the previous Web site, troubleshooting, and more -- while concurrently developing a brand new student/faculty/staff portal. Here are five questions for this graduate of Clark University and former bass guitar player:

Where did you work before NYIT?

I worked at various software companies, most recently Computer Associates and the now-defunct Acclaim Entertainment. While my specific responsibilities have varied throughout the years, the overarching theme of my career has been developing and managing large-scale internet applications for consumer-oriented audiences. Prior to those positions, I did lots of consulting for other software companies and organizations. I like software!

What is your favorite part about your current job?

Saying "yes" to people. I love to be able to find solutions to issues quickly and efficiently using the latest technologies.

What's the most challenging?

Saying "no" to people. I don't do it often and I do my best to be able to find those "yes" solutions, but even technology can't solve every issue that arises. And even though technology often provides lightening-quick solutions, sometimes expectations exceed the time frame for their project/need.

Describe the process of the Web relaunch and the numerous tasks you had to complete to make it happen?

Last summer, a Web Committee of faculty and staff began interviewing design agencies. By the fall, the actual design was decided upon and the work of building all the features began. At the same time, we began work on designing and implementing the new MyNYIT portal. After some bumps, we managed a simultaneous launch of both the new WWW site and the new portal on March 11, 2010. Then, I took a nap.

Do you have any past-times?

There's no such thing! Seriously, I'm happy to have more time to spend with my wife, Jenn, and playing baseball with my eight-year-old son, Denis.
