Robert Arthur Ouellette

Robert Arthur Ouellette manages the Zerofootprint Foundation as well as its ZEROprize and Re-Skinning Awards. He is the past director of the University of Toronto’s Information Technology Design Center and has held senior management positions or been an innovation consultant with companies including Immersion Studios, Boeing, and Siemens.

His theoretical work on the future of sustainable cities has made him a popular conference speaker, jury member, and panelist. His study of the intersection of information technologies and the city earned him a City of Toronto Urban Design Award for the John Street Media Corridor Project. Nominated for a Governor General’s Academic Award, he holds an honors degree in architecture from the University of Toronto, an M.B.A. from the University of Western Ontario’s Richard Ivey School of Business, and is a member of the Asilomar Institute of Information Architects.

In November 2009, Ouellette was invited by Canada's Parliament to present his views on Bill C-300, also known as the also known as the Corporate Accountability of Mining, Oil and Gas Corporations in Developing Countries Act. In 2006, he was a respondent at the United Nation's Sustainable Cities conference in New York. He is a columnist for the National Post and was recently nominated for a National Newspaper Award. Ouellette chairs the Sierra Club of Ontario.
