Jack Perkowski is founder and managing partner of JFP Holdings Ltd., a Beijing-based firm that helps Western companies bring their products, technology, and know-how to China, and also assists Chinese companies with expanding globally. Since launching in March 2009, JFP Holdings has grown rapidly and now has offices in the U.S. and U.K.

Upon graduating from Yale and the Harvard Business School, Perkowski spent 18 years working on Wall Street, rising to Head of Investment Banking at Paine Webber and Company, the American stock brokerage and asset management firm acquired by Swiss Bank UBS AG in 2000. With more than 15 years of experience in creating, building, and running large industrial enterprises in China, Perkowski is widely recognized as an expert on doing business in China. In 1994, he founded ASIMCO Technologies, one of the most important players in China’s vehicle components industry. Today the company is headquartered in Beijing and has 17 factories and 12,000 employees throughout the country.

Perkowski is the author of Managing the Dragon: How I’m Building a Billion- Dollar Business in China, as well as numerous articles on China, its economy, and developing a business in the country. In 2008, he was named by China Auto News as one of “30 Outstanding Entrepreneurs in China’s Auto Components Industry Over the Country’s 30 Years of Economic Reform,” the only foreigner to receive this distinction.
