Frank Mruk Associate Dean, School of Architecture and Design, New York Institute of Technology, New York Frank Mruk is the associate dean for the School of Architecture and Design at New York Institute of Technology (NYIT), where he also serves as co-director of the Masters of Architecture in Urban and Regional Design program. He served as a faculty advisor for NYIT’s Solar Decathlon team, which competed in Washington, D.C in 2007. Previous teaching positions include Parsons School of Design, the BOMI Institute, and New York University. He is a licensed architect with the American Institute of Architects (AIA), the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA), a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional, a Certified Strategic Planning Professional, a Certified Strategic Management Professional, and a Chartered Architect in England. Mruk has led strategic planning efforts at American International Group (AIG) and Morgan Stanley, as well as design/identity efforts at Cendant Corp. In private practice, he was a senior architect for URS Corp., one of the largest global engineering design firms, and has held partner positions at the Palinode Group and DMA Architects PLLC. Mruk is the co-founder of the Simpli-City think tank and the Indo-U.S. Green Building Initiative. He has previously served as president of the Association for Strategic Planning and the Construction Specification Institute, and has also served on the Board of Directors of AIA’s New York Chapter. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Pratt Institute and an M.B.A. from Pace University |
